Going into the 2025 legislative session, we are up against a tough challenge. We’re facing the worst budget crisis Maryland has seen in decades while learning how to navigate the new Republican-controlled federal government.

This year, I developed a legislative agenda that aims to create an economy that works for everyone.

I’ve introduced nine bills this year to introduce this critical mission.

These policies aim to create new jobs, build new pathways to employment for workers of all backgrounds, and ensure that more Marylanders can access work, wages, and wealth.

Whether we do this by making Maryland’s public schools the best in the country or elevating apprenticeships — we will ensure that Marylanders are equipped to tackle any challenge that faces them.

We still have a long way to go, and there’s always more work to do.
