Lizzie was nearly killed as a piglet.
A humane investigation team found her small body crushed under the weight of her mother at a factory farm. The gestation crate Lizzie, her litter mates, and her mother lived in was so small and filthy that her mother barely had enough room to sit, stand, or lie down. As a result, Lizzie had been smothered and was on the brink of death.
