*SOLD OUT Governor’s 2025 Prayer Breakfast to Feature Justin “The Big Pygmy” Wren

CHEYENNE, WYO – Governor Mark Gordon thanks the people of Wyoming for their support of the 2025 Governor’s Prayer Breakfast, which is now sold out. In recognition of keynote speaker Justin Wren, former UFC fighter, author, humanitarian & indigenous rights activist, the Governor is dedicating this year’s event to the Code of the West principle - “Know where to draw the line.” The Prayer Breakfast, a long-standing tradition spanning more than 75 years, will be held on February 12 at 6:30am at Little America Hotel and Resort.
Mercilessly bullied as a child, Wren responded by transforming himself into a champion Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter. Yet despite his success, he quietly questioned the significance of his own athletic accomplishments. Each time his hand was raised in victory he thought, “Is this it? Is this as good as it gets?” As he fought his way to the top and battled never-ending injuries that accompany the profession, he slid into painkiller addiction, battled depression and attempted suicide. He was a champion on the outside, but broken within. It wasn’t until a chance collection of circumstances led Justin to one of the most remote places on earth, to live in the rainforest among the Pygmy people, some of the most impoverished and marginalized people on the planet, that he found his true purpose – helping others.
The presenting sponsor of this year’s event is Black Hills Energy, with supporting sponsors including Cheyenne Frontier Days, Downing Strategy & Solutions, GoWest Credit Union Association, Healthy Wyoming, NextEra Energy, Rocky Mountain Power, UniWyo Credit Union, Wyoming Downs, Wyoming Bankers Association, and Wyoming Hospital Association. Wren will also keynote an event on February 11 at the Cheyenne Boys & Girls Club with support from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming and Jonah Bank of Wyoming.
The Wyoming Governor’s Prayer Breakfast traces its origin to the National Prayer Breakfast tradition, held annually in Washington, D.C. since 1953. The breakfast is non-denominational and nonpartisan. It is hosted by Governor Gordon and the Wyoming Governor’s Residence Foundation.
