By now, you’re most likely familiar with the wildfires that devastated Southern California last month. These were the most destructive fires in California's history, and my heart goes out to all those whose lives were shattered because of them.

Thanks to the heroic work of firefighters, the fires seem to have been mostly contained. But the damage that they have left behind is horrific. Thousands of families lost their homes and every item within them, from the heirlooms and photograph albums they cherished to even basic necessities, like everyday clothes and prescription medication. Local businesses and community spaces have been destroyed. Lives were lost.

People are grieving. They don’t know what tomorrow will bring—they don’t know if the air is safe to breathe or the water safe to drink. They don’t know what roof they’ll have over their head tomorrow or how they can afford to completely restart their lives, with no belongings and with bad actors hiking up rent prices left and right.

Los Angeles needs our support right now. Luckily, there are multiple organizations working on the ground to help this community rebuild.

One of these groups is the American Red Cross. The American Red Cross is working to provide "food, shelter, emotional support and other critical services" to the families who have been impacted by the California fires.

The Red Cross is a nonprofit organization that depends on small-dollar donations to fuel its critical work. So today I am asking:

Will you contribute $5, $25 or any amount you can afford to the American Red Cross? Your donation will fuel the work the organization is doing to help wildfire victims in Southern California.

Thank you for supporting the Southern California community. I know it means so much to so many.
