John,
Small rural farmers like Grace Atusimirwe dominate dairy production in Uganda. But for years, they have continued to face one crucial roadblock: Electricity.
For Grace, the lack of electricity means relying on propane lamps or candles for light, with no way to power radios or cell phones. But the biggest disadvantage is being unable to store her milk.
Grace is part of the Dwaniro Dairy and Livestock Farmers Cooperative. She, along with 820 other milk suppliers, brings her milk to the cooperative to sell. The cooperative used to rely on diesel generators for electricity, which are not only expensive but harmful to the environment.
That’s why we started our initiative, Project Solar, and today, you can be part of the change! Your gift will provide rural farmers with an affordable, reliable, and renewable energy source — ultimately powering their future.

Before solar was provided, the cooperative would spend $30,000 annually on running generators. Not only were these machines unreliable and expensive, but the costs were so high that farmers could not sell their milk at a profit.
Thanks to your support, the cooperative now has sufficient and reliable solar power — and the results are remarkable! Milk waste is almost zero, and high-quality milk sells for an excellent price at the market, helping the dairy farmers in the co-op thrive.
Solar power truly helps create a sustainable and prosperous future for these communities — and I hope you are inspired to provide a family or farmer in need with the gift of solar energy today.
Together, we can bring light and hope to every family in need — one solar panel at a time. Thank you for being a part of this transformative journey.
