Ayanna Pressley for Congress

This is not normal.

Last time I checked, no one elected Elon Musk to any official position — but that hasn’t stopped Trump from letting him upend federal agencies, access people's private financial information, and make decisions about whether Congressionally-approved funding makes it out the door.

For instance, when Trump ordered a freeze on federal foreign aid, Musk tweeted, “USAID is a criminal organization. Time for it to die.”

This is an organization that supports disaster relief, poverty relief, and socioeconomic development in countries across the world. Only Congress has the power to decide how it’s funded. Musk also infiltrated the US Treasury Department, seizing access to systems that handle trillions of dollars in government spending, as well as the personal financial data of millions of Americans.

He’s masking his efforts to cut programs and funding throughout the government in the name of “efficiency” — but let’s call a spade a spade. Musk is a billionaire private citizen with his own motives and foreign entanglements. This is a dangerous, unprecedented power grab.

We can’t allow this to keep happening. I’m sounding the alarm and using every option I have — legislation, litigation, and mobilization — to fight back and make sure Democrats stay on top of this. Your support ensures we can keep up the fight. If you can, please chip in $25 or anything you can to power this work.
