"The Spirit of the Lord is on me because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed."
- Luke 4:18
Africa
- Please pray for continued momentum in Kenya to bring about real police reforms that will curb police violence against the poorest citizens. Kenyan leaders are collaborating with IJM and other human rights organizations to develop strategies to address police brutality - pray that they will institute effective reforms that will transform law enforcement into a force for good in Kenya.
Latin America
- Praise God for the opportunity to train over 300 prosecutors and forensic professionals in Bolivia. In partnership with a grassroots organization, IJM Bolivia trained prosecutors and personnel from the Institute of Forensic Research in the cities of La Paz, Sucre and Potosi. They are now better trained in trauma-informed care and victim care, specifically related to cases of sexual violence. Pray that as these key actors in the justice system encounter child survivors of sexual violence, they would treat them with dignity and respect, protecting them from re-victimization.
South Asia
- Pray for our efforts to identify and support survivor champions who can advocate on the issue of bonded labor slavery. Much of our most exciting progress in the last few years has been led by passionate survivor leaders, and we want to expand this group to include new and diverse voices. Pray we could select women and men who are ready to speak up on behalf of their community, and that we could train them well to move into this new phase of responsibility.
Southeast Asia
- Please continue to pray for God to bring more aftercare services for survivors of cybersex trafficking in the Philippines. After rescue, survivors have complex needs, and half of the children we serve are 12 years old or younger. Pray specifically for more shelters in the Visayas and Midanao regions who can accept groups of siblings in the same home, and pray for God to bring foster families who can care for very young survivors.

- Please join us in thanking God for our athlete partners, like

Clayton Kershaw , who are using their platform and influence to rally others to seek justice. Ask God to give them creativity and persistence as they build awareness about the scope of modern-day slavery and cast a hopeful vision about how to end slavery in our lifetime.
