John,Trump is banning offshore wind because … he thinks it’s driving the whales “crazy”?!?

Give us a break. This is not rational policy-making: it is merely an attempt to turn a deranged man’s views into policies. Stopping clean, forward-looking projects like these will only hurt American pocketbooks, jobs, and air quality.

This decision could halt more than 50 gigawatts of offshore wind energy in development off of US waters – driving up the cost of energy and taking away good-paying American jobs.

Offshore wind and other forms of clean energy will be crucial in keeping energy prices low during times of geopolitical crisis. Clean energy is affordable, American energy. Instead of investing in a costly fossil fuel buildout that has little industry support and will not come online for decades, we need to be investing in real solutions that will lower energy costs for American households.

SEEC has some of the strongest defenders of offshore wind in Congress. Members like Rep. Chris Deluzio of Rhode Island and Rep. Dan Goldman of New York have already seen the benefits that offshore wind has brought back to their districts and constituents.
