Friends,

We hope you all are staying well and safe during this difficult and unusual time. Northern Virginia may be beginning to reopen, but 350 Fairfax will be meeting virtually for the foreseeable future.

Join us on June 4 for our first official virtual general meeting, featuring a very special guest speaker: Sam Bleicher, an adjunct professor at Georgetown Law School and author of the novel The Plot to Cool the Planet.

For 20 years, Sam practiced all aspects of environmental law, including federal and state legislation and regulations, as a partner at Miles & Stockbridge and other Washington-area law firms. He was also a member and vice chair of the Virginia Air Pollution Control Board from June 2014 to November 2018. Since retiring, he has taught US and international law and climate change at law schools in Beijing, Wuhan, and Moscow.

Sam published the climate novel The Plot to Cool the Planet in 2019. The book was named a finalist in the Indie Excellence Book Awards competition.

Sam will join us on June 4 to talk about his novel and also about what people know and don’t understand about the future of climate disruption. His presentation will be followed by Q&A, so be sure to bring your questions!

To receive instructions about how to join the event online, RSVP here. (We will send the event link only to those who RSVP.)

We are excited to welcome Sam to our meeting, and we’re also looking forward to connecting with all of you virtually next week. Don’t forget to RSVP!

Julie
