Hi–
This year, we simply cannot afford to sit back—we have to take action immediately. And we have a plan to fight back.
Our plan to fight back is multi-pronged: First, we know that the best way to stop bad gun bills and advance good gun safety bills is by shaping state legislatures. Right now, we have more Gun Sense Champions in Congress and governors' offices than ever before to help us counter the gun lobby's cronies and their guns everywhere agenda.
Second, the best way to stop politicians who are beholden to the gun lobby is to throw them out and replace them with even more Gun Sense Champions. Our track record of cultivating a pipeline of volunteers into lawmakers is solid—with more than 333 newly elected legislators in 42 states in the last cycle. In 2025, we're gearing up to support over 750 volunteers in their campaigns.
Last but not least, we're finding ourselves in familiar territory: a gun lobby-backed president hell-bent on undoing all of the gun safety progress we've made. Last time, we blocked the NRA's top federal priority that would allow anyone to have access to a gun, no questions asked.
Now, we're bigger, smarter, and stronger than ever. And we're more than enough to take on Trump, the gun lobby that backs him, and the armed extremism that is impacting our communities. But only with your continued support fueling our fights and campaigns day in and day out.
