John,

I’ve traveled all across Pennsylvania throughout the years, and though our communities may look a little different, most folks I’ve spoken to really want the same things. And one of the issues I’ve heard about the most from rural, urban, and suburban communities is addressing public safety.

Listen, every family across Pennsylvania deserves the freedom to feel safe and be safe in their community. That’s why, since I took office, I’ve taken concrete steps to ensure every Pennsylvanian receives that fundamental freedom.

As Governor, I secured new funding to hire and train over 800 new state troopers, ensuring that the Pennsylvania State Police have the workforce and the resources it needs to keep our Commonwealth safe. And, we supported the hiring of 700 municipal police officers across the Commonwealth. Law enforcement runs towards danger every day to protect the good people of Pennsylvania from harm. These officers truly have our backs, which is why I’ve worked so hard to make sure they have the resources and equipment they need.

But John, that’s not all I’ve done to make our communities safer. I proudly secured an additional $60 million for county 911 services, ensuring that counties have more resources to respond to emergencies. Through the work of the Pennsylvania State Police, I helped take nearly $120 million worth of illegal drugs — including heroin and fentanyl — off the streets of our Commonwealth. And I’ve supported common sense gun reform legislation to ban the purchase of untraceable gun parts, close the gun show loophole, and implement universal background checks.

Here in Pennsylvania, we take public safety seriously. After all, everything else that I’m working to deliver to our Commonwealth — like good-paying jobs and expanded opportunities — requires safe communities.

I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished so far, John — but please know that my work isn’t finished. Keeping our communities safe takes more than a one-time investment. It requires a years-long commitment — a commitment that I’ve proudly upheld since my first day in office.

I believe every Pennsylvanian deserves the freedom to raise their family in a safe, strong community. If you agree, will you add your name in support of my work to make our Commonwealth safer?
