Johh,
Thanks to your incredible support, we met our first major fundraising deadline of the year. Your contributions ensure I can keep fighting for the people of Colorado, pushing back against the Trump administration, and standing up against the regressive policies that threaten our rights.
As we step into Black History Month, we do so at a time when the fight for racial justice and equality is urgent.
Colorado has a rich legacy of Black leaders who moved our state and country forward. Elvin R. Caldwell was a trailblazer in the fight against discrimination as the first Black city councilmember west of the Mississippi. Gloria Tanner, the first Black woman in the Colorado Senate, dedicated her life to advancing civil rights. Their legacies remind us of the progress we have made.
But that progress is under attack. Extreme lawmakers are rolling back voting rights, passing harmful legislation that disproportionately impacts Black communities, and enacting policies that threaten the fundamental freedoms we have fought to secure. We cannot allow these setbacks to define our future.
I remain committed to ensuring that every American — regardless of race, background, or zip code — can thrive. This month, I encourage you to join me in honoring Black history, amplifying Black voices, and standing up for policies that advance equity and opportunity for all.
With gratitude,
Diana
