John, When I read about the Trump Administration's orders to freeze federal funding and cut back programs last Tuesday, my first thought went to the caregivers and care recipients who were caught in the crosshairs of this petty political game.

My heart sank as I read texts and updates about childcare providers not knowing if they could stay open without Head Start funding, and Medicaid providers being down in all 50 states. But our team at Caring Across was ready and we immediately sprung into action, alongside our partners.

When the White House sent a memo to take back the funding freeze the next day, I knew that was thanks to the power of our movement. We have so much power when we come together.

Now is the time for us to show the strength of this movement. Sign our petition to push back against dangerous cuts and advocate for the care we need. [[link removed]]

Medicaid allows aging adults and disabled people to access long-term care in their homes and communities, on their terms. Head Start funding helps keep childcare centers afloat, so families can access affordable care for their little ones. Suspending payments to these programs only hurts families.

We all depend on care, and we deserve elected leaders who put the needs of families first. Rather than tax breaks for billionaires, we need investments in paid leave for all, affordable childcare, and accessible aging and disability care.

Make no mistake – Republicans are already carrying out their playbook to make cuts to our care, and now is the time for us to come together and stop it. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen it, and it won’t be the last.

The chaos and the confusion ARE the strategy here. We’ve seen this playbook before, and we’ve successfully protected our care before. Whether it’s through an executive order, memo, or Congressional bill, we’re prepared to do it again. Can we count you in for our fight to protect our care, John? [[link removed]]

This administration was elected by voters who were frustrated with rising costs. But rather than supporting families, the Trump administration is playing political games with public dollars and pushing our country to the brink.

We won’t stop fighting for the needs of families over billionaires – and we’re proud to have you with us.

With care,
