Hi John, 

In the last two weeks, President Trump has targeted transgender people over and over in a sweeping attempt to control their lives, their rights, and their health care. The impact of his actions is not limited to trans and intersex people. Anyone who challenges his rigid beliefs about gender will be targeted by many of these same policies. 

You have the power to fight back. While ink is still drying on President Trump’s executive orders, aggressive anti-trans bills are being drafted and debated in Congress. The people you elected must know that attacking trans people’s freedom to be ourselves is a non-starter.

Whenever governments have tried to strip the freedoms of vulnerable communities, there have been people like us defying them. We know political attacks on transgender people are connected to the Trump administration’s censorship, division, and hate – these are collective efforts to divide us because of how we look, sound, pray, and if, when, and how we start a family. 

No president or politician gets to divide and control us – we will always fight back.
