The Trump administration has selected Project 2025 lawyer Pam Bondi to serve as Attorney General
Friend,
The Trump administration has selected Project 2025 lawyer Pam Bondi to serve as Attorney General — and you can help oppose her confirmation.
TAKE ACTION
If confirmed, Bondi would lead the Department of Justice (DOJ), which oversees federal prosecutions, provides legal counsel to the president and enforces federal laws, including vital civil rights laws.
Pam Bondi is gravely unfit to lead the DOJ, an agency that plays a leading and vital role in protecting our constitutional and civil rights. She used her position as Florida’s Attorney General to restrict voting rights and deny humane treatment to migrants and criminal defendants.
Disturbingly, her blind loyalty to President Trump demonstrates she’ll assist in his plan to use the DOJ to punish his political adversaries. Bondi announced an investigation into Trump University would not proceed after he made a large donation to her campaign. She also showed concerning bias after the 2020 election when she traveled to Pennsylvania and falsely claimed Trump had won the election in that state, making untrue claims about cheating, fake ballots, and votes cast by dead people. Friend, your senators will vote to confirm or deny Bondi in the coming days. This is a critical moment — take action now and tell your senators to vote NO on Pam Bondi’s confirmation.
TAKE ACTION
Across decades of the SPLC’s vital civil rights work, the DOJ has been essential in securing rights for Black and Brown people. When states denied or actively obstructed their Black, Brown, and poor residents' civil rights, it was often the DOJ — under both Republican and Democrat administrations — that stepped in to protect these rights and ensure justice was served. We believe Bondi will weaponize the DOJ to advance the priorities of Project 2025 and the Trump administration. And we’re not alone in our opposition — the SPLC has joined more than 90 civil and human rights organizations in urging the senate to reject her confirmation.
At this moment, we must stand up to defend our democracy. Thank you for taking action when it matters most.
In solidarity,
