Nearly two years after the earthquakes, survivors still face the emotional aftermath and damage to infrastructure already weakened by a decade of war and the recent collapse of the former Syrian government. Clean water, food, shelter, and access to health care are still limited, and the emotional toll of the crisis—especially on children—remains profound.
Learn more about how, thanks to your support, MSF has continued to adapt and respond as the needs of our patients in Syria have continued to grow and change.
Our teams launched a mental health initiative, deploying mobile units to 80 locations and providing 8,026 individual consultations to help survivors cope with the emotional scars. We also established “safe spaces” where 25,000 women and children could find moments of relief from the harsh reality they are living through.
Responding to a disaster of this magnitude demands long-term commitment and careful planning. Thanks to each and every one of our supporters, MSF will continue to meet the needs of our patients no matter what challenges arise.
