FRC Remains Your Voice

Dear John,

These are trying times for our nation. So many families have faced uncertainty from the coronavirus pandemic and the impact it has had on our economy. In these difficult circumstances, it can be hard to see beyond the constant headlines.

While we deal with the various challenges related to the coronavirus, Family Research Council remains focused on our mission of defending faith, family, and freedom here in Washington, D.C. and throughout the nation.

Some of the latest threats to religious freedom surprisingly come from one of the most recognizable brands in the world. Nike may be a major multi-national manufacturer of sports equipment, but lately, all they seem to be promoting is their brand of political extremism.

The last few months have been pretty revealing for the company. As if their anti-American, phony social justice warrior act of dissing the national anthem wasn't enough, they started throwing their weight behind other progressive cultural agendas:

  • Attacking the rights of faith-based adoption agencies -- In a letter signed by a collection of national CEOs, Nike joined large corporations like Amazon, Dell, Mars, Hilton, and others denouncing Tennessee's HB 836 law, which protects the rights of faith-based adoption and foster agencies. The letter warned of economic risk if lawmakers put religious liberty above the LGBT agenda.
  • Championing transgender activists over female athletes -- Nike is also actively working to stop Tennessee and other states from halting transgender activism in sports. Nike is so beholden to the LGBT lobby that they are willing to force females to sit on the sidelines while biological males take home trophies and scholarships intended for women.
  • Pushing transgender surgery for children -- After Alabama legislators proposed a commonsense bill to protect children experiencing gender confusion from being rushed into transgender surgery and hormone treatments until they are old enough to make an informed decision, Nike is once again pushing a radical LGBT agenda. The corporate giant is threatening Alabama with economic blackmail stating in a letter to the legislators that the measure would "harm our team members and their families," make them feel "unwelcome," and even put them "at risk."

As the Left and their allies in Big Business push an anti-biblical agenda, FRC will keep advocating for public policy that protects biblical values. Will you help us hold Big Businesses like Nike accountable for radical LGBT extremism?

While Nike has spent the last couple of years sanctimoniously shaming those not deemed "woke" enough in the U.S, they haven't been able to hide their involvement in China's forced labor program. The shoe giant is looking the other way and trading in human capital while their shoes are being stitched together by Uyghur slaves.

Vice President Mike Pence remarked, "A progressive corporate culture that ignores the abuse of human rights is not progressive, it is repressive."

FRC will keep countering hypocritical companies like Nike that threaten religious liberty even while they turn a blind eye to human rights abuses that feed their bottom line.

Will you join FRC in pushing back against activists and Big Businesses that use their LGBT agenda to bully people of sincere faith in the public square? Every dollar you give supports our ongoing efforts on your behalf to promote a Christ-centered culture that advances faith, family, and freedom.

This is not a time to withdraw in fear, but rather a time to walk in wisdom. As we provide leadership on Capitol Hill and support the church through this season, our FRC team is actively continuing to strengthen families, advance religious freedom, and protect vulnerable lives.

Thank you for your prayers and financial support that enable FRC to be a voice of reason and hope to the culture in the midst of this crisis on behalf of biblical values.
