Protesters Shut Down Los Angeles Freeway in Response to ICE Raids

CBS: A large crowd gathered in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday in response to the recent increase in ICE raids and deportations. The protest initially began on Olvera Street, but grew to a few thousand people who marched to City Hall before walking onto the 101 Freeway. The California Highway Patrol’s Transportation Management Center reported that some protesters were blocking some lanes, though the CHP has not confirmed any closures. However, the California Department of Transportation District 7 reported on X that the 101 Freeway was closed in both directions between the 110 Freeway and Mission Road, advising drivers to avoid the area (CBS). Libs of TikTok: They shut down freeways and stop traffic in one of the most congested cities in the U.S. to try to convince us not to deport them. This isn’t gonna end well. Get ICE on scene ASAP (X). Breaking 911: Anti-American agitators are now illegally blocking both sides of the 101 Freeway in downtown L.A. to protest mass deportations. The Calif. Highway patrol has closed the roadway (X).

ICE Agents Have Arrested 7,400 People in Nine Days

Fox News: Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested more than 7,400 people in nine days across several states amid its aggressive crackdown on illegal immigration since the new Trump administration came into office… As of Jan. 31, ICE has so far arrested 7,412 people who the agency says are in the country illegally. The agency says that nearly 6,000 ICE detainers have been placed on individuals (Fox News). New York Post: ICE has provided limited information on just a few dozen of the arrested migrants — all of whom were previously convicted of felonies, facing criminal charges or wanted for crimes in their home countries (New York Post).

Tom Homan States Border Crossings Have Been Diminished by Percent

Daily Wire: Border Czar Tom Homan announced over the weekend that the Trump administration has seen a dramatic drop-off in illegal border crossings since taking over and telling the world that the border is closed. Homan made the revelation during a Sunday interview on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures” after the administration has been in power for nearly two weeks. “We’ve got the numbers this morning. The crossings on the border are down 93%. 93%!” Homan said. “That’s a bigger decrease than under the first Trump administration” (Daily Wire). Gunther Eagleman: Tom Homan just announced that border crossings are DOWN 93%! “We got more work to do” (X).

Panama Agrees to End Panama Canal Control Deal With China After Meeting with Secretary of State Marco Rubio

NBC: Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Panamanian President José Raúl Mulino in Panama over the weekend, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said in a readout of their meeting. Rubio told Mulino about President Donald Trump’s concern regarding Chinese influence over the Panama Canal and that Rubio “made clear that this status quo is unacceptable and that absent immediate changes, it would require the United States to take measures necessary to protect its rights under the Treaty,” according to Bruce (NBC). Benny Johnson: Panama’s President has ended the country’s Panama Canal deal with China, immediately following a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Are we tired of winning yet (X)? End Wokeness: Panama bends the knee to Trump and will be ending its dealings with China over the canal dispute (X).

Canada Announces Retaliatory Tariffs for Trump Imposing 25 Percent Tariffs on Imports

How about they address the border then the tariffs will be removed? Just the News: President Trump signed a formal order on Saturday imposing tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China. Mexican and Canadian imports will be subject to a 25% tariffs until further notice. The initial start date for the tariffs is still not clear. Trump has called on Mexico and Canada to do more to stop the flow of illegal immigration and illegal drugs coming into the U.S. Energy from Canada will be subject to 10% tariffs. Trump has advocated for China to crackdown on the fentanyl that is coming into the U.S. The tariff on Chinese goods will be 10% (Just the News). Townhall: In response, Canadian MP Charlie Angus vowed retaliation while also criticizing Elon Musk, accusing him of being responsible for the “hate algorithms of the oligarchs” that are believed to have fueled divisive rhetoric (Townhall). Libs of TikTok: Justin Trudeau just announced 25% tariffs on $150+ billion of American goods (X).

Venezuela Agrees to Take Back Illegal Immigrants from the U.S. and Pay Transportation Costs

Newsmax: Venezuela has agreed to accept illegal immigrants from the U.S. and pay for the return transport of their nationals, President Donald Trump said Saturday…The report comes a day after Richard Grenell, Trump’s envoy for special missions, said he was flying home from Venezuela with six American detainees after meeting with the country’s president (Newsmax). Richard Grenell: We can now announce more great news from our Venezuela diplomatic mission yesterday: Venezuela has agreed to take back all the illegal immigrants in the U.S. from Venezuela – and pay for it! Thanks to Donald Trump (X)!

New DNC Chair Wants Trump Charged with Treason

National Review: Ken Martin, the longtime leader of Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party who called for President Donald Trump to be put on trial for treason, was elected as chair of the Democratic National Committee on Saturday… In June 2020, Martin accused Trump of ignoring intelligence that Russia offered the Taliban bounties to attack Americans — an unsubstantiated claim the White House said in 2021 was based off little evidence, and a claim that was not verified by the CIA. Trump “should be immediately impeached and then put on trial for treason. His actions led to the deaths of American soldiers. He is a traitor to our nation and all those who have served,” Martin said at the time. Martin joined the rest of the DNC candidates over the weekend in saying that “racism and misogyny” played a part in Kamala Harris’s loss to Trump. Although minority voters made dramatic shifts to the right in the last presidential election, Martin said that the Democratic Party has “got the right message” (National Review). End Wokeness: Every single candidate for DNC Chair just blamed their loss in 2024 on racism and misogyny (X). They really have not learned their lesson.

Gun-Control Activist David Hogg Elected DNC Vice Chair

New York Post: A survivor of the 2018 Parkland high school shooting has become one of the new vice chairs of the Democratic National Committee. Former student-turned-gun-control activist David Hogg, 24, was among three people elected to the position Saturday during a meeting in National Harbor, Md., just outside of Washington, DC, to elect the DNC’s next suite of leaders (New York Post). Host Cash Loren: Democrats just elected David Hogg to be the Vice Chair of the DNC. The Democrats lost the popular vote. Lost the White House. Lost the Senate. Lost the House. But they still have learned no lesson (X).

Elon Musk Exposes Dubious Payment Approval Process of the Treasury

Fox News: Tech billionaire Elon Musk ripped alleged “fraudulent” Treasury payments on Saturday as reports circulated that the Department of Government Efficiency has gained access to the federal government’s payment system as the second Trump administration continues cutting what they say is government fat and overspending… Musk’s post came just ahead of the New York Times reporting Saturday afternoon that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent granted DOGE personnel access to the payment system. The Treasury spends roughly $6 trillion per year on payments for federal agencies (Fox News). Elon Musk: The DOGE team discovered, among other things, that payment approval officers at Treasury were instructed always to approve payments, even to known fraudulent or terrorist groups. They literally never denied a payment in their entire career. Not even once (X).
