On Feb. 4, 1941, the United Service Organizations was founded at the request of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, who sought to unite several service member support groups to lift the morale of our military and encourage support on the home front.
That unification became the USO!
And for 84 years, the USO has worked tirelessly to support our heroes in uniform and their families — from hosting USO dances, camp shows and letter-writing events during World War II to providing critical supplies and technology to keep them connected to home today.
And it’s all thanks to generous people like you.
