Dear Friend,

I hope 2025 has been good to you so far! I’m proud to have spent January fighting for you in D.C. and spending time in NM-01 hearing directly from our communities on issues that matter most to them. Earlier this month, I became Ranking Member of the DOGE Subcommittee on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee. I took this role because as a former staffer at the White House Office of Management and Budget, I know what good government and spending should look like, and I'm not afraid to fight for it. If my colleagues across the aisle want to work on government efficiency in a serious way, I am willing to work with them. But, if this is not a good faith effort and simply a political, partisan subcommittee that the GOP has created to bolster Donald Trump's horrific policies and line Elon Musk’s pockets, then I will fight back at every single turn.

Most recently, I joined my former colleagues in the New Mexico State Legislature to speak in front of the Joint Session. I am grateful to be home with our change makers and dragon slayers who are fighting the good fight here in New Mexico. You can watch my full remarks below.

I also want to take this opportunity to invite you to a Telephone Town Hall I am hosting this Monday, February 3rd, at 6 pm MT. I’ll be giving updates on what’s going on in Congress and the federal government—the federal workforce, funding freezes, the President’s executive orders, and what your rights are under the Constitution. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions or talk about the issues that you care about with me and thousands of other New Mexicans. If you’re interested, all you have to do is dial in and you’ll be connected!
