I’m pleased to share that yesterday, I was elected to serve as the next Chair of the Democratic National Committee. This is both an honor and a humbling responsibility — one that I do not take lightly, especially at a time when Donald Trump is plunging our country into crisis. 

Serving as Chair of the Minnesota DFL has been the privilege of a lifetime, and I’m extremely proud of everything we’ve accomplished together in the past 14 years. DFLers won every single statewide election, and our leaders used hard-earned political capital to pass bold, forward-thinking legislation that will improve peoples’ lives for generations to come. 

I have no doubt that the DFL will remain the strongest state party in the country. Our party’s strength doesn’t come from any one leader — it comes from the thousands of dedicated volunteers and grassroots donors who never stop fighting for our shared Minnesota values. 

The successful model we’ve built at the Minnesota DFL will serve as a roadmap for making progress on the national stage. And rest assured—you haven’t seen the last of me! I look forward to working with you to elect Democrats in Minnesota and across the nation in my new role.
