Donald Trump blocked Dr. Anthony Fauci from appearing before the Democrat-controlled House in an attempt to control the narrative around the administration's failed pandemic response.

That plan backfired spectacularly.

Vox News reports that, during his testimony before the GOP Senate, "Fauci -- who as director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases is the government's top infectious disease expert -- made clear that he thinks states should pump the breaks on reopening until the number of new cases per day starts going down. And with one notable exception, senators -- even the Republican ones -- seemed appreciative of his input."

That notable exception was Senator Rand Paul -- who attempted to downplay Fauci's expertise, saying, "We can listen to your advice, but there are people on the other side."

With how much he's been attempting to spin the administration's massive failure to act as a victory, the main person "on the other side" of science and reason appears to be Donald Trump. But Fauci hasn't let Trump's influence silence him, and neither should we. So speak up with us, now:
