When some people think of Groundhog Day, they think of Punxsutawney Phil and wonder if we’ll have six more weeks of winter.

Me? I also think about Bill Murray. See, in the 1993 classic Groundhog Day, Murray plays weatherman Phil Connors — who starts reliving the same day over and over again and has to figure out how to break the cycle.

It's not unlike us living through the same GOP gerrymandering playbook: manipulate maps, win unearned power, pass out-of-touch policies, rinse, repeat. And just like Phil, we'll go to great lengths to end this pattern.

Because of the support of this grassroots team, Wisconsin now has a fair maps champion in Gov. Tony Evers, a pro-democracy majority on the Wisconsin Supreme Court, and fair state legislative maps that just ended the GOP’s unearned supermajority that had been in place for most of the last 13 years.

We can protect the fair maps we have achieved, fight the ongoing attempts to gerrymander, and be ready for the redistricting fights ahead.
