John --
I got my start in politics volunteering with the Pierce County Democratic Party to elect candidates up and down the ticket in our area.
I’ve worked on a ton of campaigns, and I can tell with certainty that the most successful ones were those that effectively built, trained, and mobilized the largest grassroots volunteer operation.
That’s precisely what we intend to do here in WA-10:
With roughly 50 days until ballots drop in WA-10, we’re officially ramping up our volunteer-led voter contact program. Can you use this link to sign up and become a member of our volunteer team? >> [link removed]
This is going to be an integral piece of our campaign. With COVID-19 changing the way campaigns are run, our phone-banking, texting, and online organizing programs are going to be more important than ever.
And the earlier we can make contact with primary voters about my record and platform -- the stronger our chances will be when people start to vote.
Volunteering is fun, it’s easy, and you can make an enormous impact. If everyone on our email list spent just 1 hr a week making calls or sending texts, we’d have the largest grassroots operation in WA-10 history.

Phil Gardner served as the District Director for Congressman Rep. Denny Heck in Washington's 10th District. Now, he's running to replace Denny in order to continue fighting for the people of the South Sound and our shared progressive values. If elected, Phil would make history as Washington state’s first openly LGBT Member of Congress.
