The Republicans have made it clear they won’t hesitate to exploit this pandemic in order to undermine our democracy and suppress our right to vote.

We’re seeing it from President Trump, who is threatening to block battleground states from using federal funds in order to make it safer to vote.

We’re seeing it from my former opponent Darrell Issa, who is suing California for expanding vote-by-mail access in our state.

And now, Republicans are even suing Democrats for implementing safe remote voting by proxy so that our constituents’ voices can be heard and we can pass legislation safely during this pandemic.

Republicans like to cry foul about fraud. But we all know what this is really about: suppressing votes and trying to clear their path to retake the House. It’s infuriating.
