Donald Trump was demanding that Barack Obama appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee to answer questions about an invented GOP conspiracy theory called “Obamagate.”
AG Bill Barr shut Trump down, saying, “as long as I’m attorney general, the criminal justice system will not be used for partisan political ends.”
After Barr’s decision to drop criminal charges against disgraced ex-Trump advisor Michael Flynn, that might be saying a little much. But at least, for now, Trump won’t get his kangaroo court fantasy.
The last time Trump had a conspiracy theory about his predecessor, he wouldn’t let it go until Obama released his birth certificate. Even now, 44% of likely voters approve of Donald Trump -- which means Trump might think he has a mandate to continue his baseless harassment of the former president. Tell us what you think:
