Click and watch this short promo video above and get a taste of what you'll experience when you attend PRI's California Ideas in Action Conference.
Join Pacific Research Institute for our seventh annual California Ideas in Action Conference on Tuesday, February 18 at the Sutter Club in Sacramento.

This year's luncheon keynote speaker is Scott Rasmussen, one of the world's leading public opinion pollsters and top political analysts and host of "The Scott Rasmussen Show" on Merit Street Media.

You won't want to miss his insights on what we can learn in California from the 2024 election results, and whether the strong vote for Prop. 36, President Trump and the recall of Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon forecast a political realignment on the horizon in the Golden State.

This year's conference will also feature some of the state's top free market thinkers sharing their thoughts on the key issues facing California and the US, including:
* Sacramento County Sheriff Jim Cooper discussing what's next for law enforcement after the passage of Prop. 36, in conversation with PRI senior fellow Steve Smith
* Assembly Member Blanca Rubio sharing her thoughts on how to stem the "Great Classroom Collapse" through the science of reading with PRI's Lance Izumi
* PRI President, CEO, and Thomas W. Smith Fellow in Health Care Policy Sally Pipes discussing her new book arguing against government drug price controls, The World's Medicine Chest.
* A panel discussion on the "War on Suburbia" moderated by Free Cities Center director Steven Greenhut with remarks by some of the state's top experts on land use and housing policy.

ABOUT SCOTT RASMUSSEN

Scott Rasmussen has long been recognized as one of the world’s leading public opinion pollsters and top political analysts. He constantly has his finger on the pulse of the nation and his knowledge of history enables him to put the latest issues into a larger context. Scott is the president of RMG Research and founder of the Napolitan Institute.

Innovation has been a hallmark of Scott's career. In 1978 he changed the world of sports with the founding of ESPN, taking advantage of the then new technology of satellite communications. As the internet came to life in the 90’s, Scott launched his first website and became the first pollster to offer data directly to the public rather than through a network reporter. Scott revolutionized the polling industry with automated polling, being described by the Wall Street Journal as a "key player in the contact sport of politics."

Today, Scott’s focus is to bring the true voice of the American people to the forefront of the political discourse. As part of his work for the Napolitan Institute, Scott recently conducted unprecedented research documenting an Elite 1% of the population whose views are wildly out of touch with the American people. This study included the first ever survey of federal government managers, revealing that those who help run the country are much more aligned with the Elite 1% than with voters, and in some cases are even more extreme in their viewpoints.

Scott is a New York Times bestselling author. He lives with his wife in Texas and they have two grown children.
