Dear friend,
After more than a year
of conflict and suffering, the ceasefire announcement between Hamas and
Israel last month was a sign of hope for millions of Palestinians — hope
that relief, peace, and the ability to return home were on the horizon.
Once the ceasefire was finalized, restrictions were lifted on the border
and allowed aid to flow into Gaza. With the support of generous people
like you, seven trucks of humanitarian aid of Mercy Corps aid were granted
access to northern Gaza to reach families with essential items, including
2,100 food and 2,100 hygiene kits — and we won’t stop there.
Mercy Corps will continue to get as much aid as possible to families in
Gaza during this critical ceasefire window while continuing to call for an
end to the siege that has left 3.1 million people in need of humanitarian
assistance.

Last
February, Mercy Corps prepared a cargo of humanitarian aid with food kits
in Jordan that were eventually delivered across the border into Gaza.
For over a year, we have been calling
for a ceasefire, the safe return of all hostages, protection of all
civilians, and access to humanitarian aid. Now that we have a ceasefire
agreement in place, we must continue to take action.
This agreement opens a critical window of opportunity for Mercy Corps and
our partners to ramp up delivery of desperately needed relief to help
families return home and rebuild.
Mercy Corps teams and partners are continuing to transport lifesaving
relief including food, water, hygiene kits, and shelter supplies. However,
the humanitarian need on the ground remains dire.
Since October 7, 2023, more than 2.1 million people have been displaced.
Families lost their homes, hunger and polio outbreaks threatened the lives
of children, and the constant bombardment destroyed the lives and
livelihoods of innocent civilians.
The road to recovery for the people of Gaza is a long and difficult one —
but together, we can help meet their immediate needs, provide guidance in
returning back to a sense of normalcy, and stay long after to ensure their
full, long-term recovery.
Thank you for your commitment in
helping to deliver critical aid in Gaza during this conflict and in crisis
zones across the globe. [ [link removed] ]In this critical moment, your support is
desperately needed to transform the lives of the people who have been
affected by conflict, disaster, and poverty. Will you make your first gift
