![]() John, The so-called "Fix Our Forests" Act will open the door to logging on millions of acres of federal land. If this misleadingly-named bill becomes law, it will immediately roll back vital protections for endangered species and accelerate logging. The Senate will be voting on this bad forests bill soon, so we need to speak out against it right now. Our forests deserve to stay standing tall. Send a message to your U.S. senators urging them to vote "no" on the tree-killing "Fix Our Forests" Act. Normally, proposed logging projects on federal land need to undergo extensive environmental review to ensure that the ecosystem and any endangered animals who live there won't be adversely affected. The "Fix Our Forests" Act torpedoes that requirement, circumventing the vital review process to accelerate logging.1 Our mature and old-growth forests are vital to the health of our planet -- and if we chop them down, they won't return to their full glory within our lifetimes. Towering, healthy trees take decades to grow. We need to cherish and protect the forests we have left, not open them up to reckless logging projects. Take action now to oppose the "Fix Our Forests" Act. This is urgent, John. This bill is moving fast. The "Fix Our Forests" Act has already passed the House.2 That means our last chance to stop it lies with our U.S. senators. When we raise our voices together, we know we can make a difference for our forests. But our U.S. senators need to hear from us soon. Take action today to stop the "Fix Our Forests" Act before it's too late. Thank you, Ellen Montgomery |
