Hi there,

I didn’t set resolutions this year. Instead, I’m leaning into gentle growth. Quiet flourishing. Making a little extra effort to carve out space for the things that bring me joy—a practice that nourishes my joy over time, watering it like a garden.

As humans, we can slowly grow into a new reality—little by little, without realizing it. And this is how I view our work for animals.

Every year, this community moves the needle forward toward a vastly more compassionate world. More and more companies cave to your pressure to end the worst forms of animal abuse. At the ballot box, more and more voters elect laws to protect octopuses, rabbits, fishes, chickens, cows, pigs. More and more living beings can experience a world with less pain, less suffering—because you keep showing up, right here.

One of the most powerful ways you can show up for animals this year is by joining our monthly giving community, The Heart Beat.

Donating any amount each month—whether that’s $5 or $50—enables us to plan and execute the strategies that have proven most effective for ending systemic animal abuse. Your gifts directly fund progress for farmed animals on every front: policy change, corporate negotiation, movement building, research. Every dollar we receive goes as far as possible to help animals suffering behind the walls of factory farms. And for the first six months, your gift will be matched.

We hear this phrase over and over again, but it can be tough to really accept: Change takes time. Change takes showing up day after day, mostly in unglamorous ways. Putting in the work. Watering the garden.

By showing up here, as part of this movement, you’re making the choice to nurture something beautiful. You’re watering a garden of compassion for all beings.

Next year, let’s look back on this year and marvel at how much we accomplished for animals, together. Are you with us?

With gratitude,

Alison Hansen-Decelles
Development Team

P.S. I want to reiterate that any amount makes a difference—and the first six months will be matched. Spreading out a donation over months, rather than all at once, is a great way to make a generous contribution in 2025 for a manageable cost each month. Thank you for considering, and thank you for being here.
