We are truly so lucky to have the best team in politics, Governor Healey and Lt. Governor Driscoll, leading our state. Their advocacy and passion has led to huge wins for Team Massachusetts, including being named the number one state for women as well as the top state for public education.

 

We wanted to make sure you were up to date with everything the administration is getting done on our behalf, so we've gathered up some of Team Healey/Driscoll's best accomplishments from this month and are excited to share with you our January Wins!

 

  • Governor Healey announced that her Fiscal Year 2026 budget proposal will include a section to eliminate renter-paid broker fees. Governor Healey’s proposal will require the fee to be paid by whoever hires the broker, which is usually the landlord.

  • Governor Healey and Lt. Governor Driscoll visited Union Station in Worcester to announce historic investments in the state’s roads, bridges and regional transportation system. The investments represent the largest state transportation investment in more than 20 years and would be done without raising taxes.

  • The Healey/Driscoll administration announced the largest proposed infrastructure investments in Massachusetts’ public higher education system in decades that will transform and modernize the UMass system, state universities, and community colleges.
  • Governor Healey announced that she is filing legislation to reform the Chapter 90 roadways program to substantially increase funding for municipal roads and bridges.

  • The administration awarded Literacy Launch grants to 15 school districts to support high-quality reading instruction. This investment in our Commonwealth’s youngest learners ensures they are being set up for success through literacy materials, technical support, coaching and professional development for their educators.
  • On January 29, the U.S. Department of Education announced Massachusetts was once again the number one state for education on the Nation’s Report Card.
