Donald Trump and Texas Republicans are teaming up to attack our public schools.

This week, Trump signed an executive order making it easier to divert federal taxpayer dollars for private school vouchers. 

This is exactly what Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans have been pushing for: stealing an estimated $1 billion in taxpayer dollars from our public schools for voucher programs that don’t even cover the full cost of private schools.

Our nation’s public schools are already severely underfunded. Now, Donald Trump and Greg Abbott want to strip more funding from public schools to subsidize billionaire-backed private schools that are not required to accept poor students or children with disabilities.

Our students deserve fully funded, high-quality public schools – not a school voucher system rigged to benefit the wealthiest families. 

Can you chip in $8, or whatever you can, to help us defend public education from Trump and Greg Abbott? Public schools are the backbone of our communities. We can’t let Trump and Texas Republicans defund them to help their wealthy donors.
