Happy Black History Month! This month, we'll be highlighting the phenomenal Black LGBTQ+ leaders who paved the way. But there's still so much history to make. Today, there are barely 140 out LGBTQ+ Black officials in the entire country. Black people and LGBTQ+ people continue to feel the consequences of this underrepresentation in policies and legislation that target our communities.

But we are working to move us forward. In 2025, Victory Fund's Black Leaders Caucus will recruit and support more LGBTQ+ candidates than at any time in our history - including the historic candidates listed above. Victories for these candidates will also increase representation for people of color, immigrants and women - and ensure equitable representation for the entire LGBTQ+ community.
