NOW: This race has tightened. Two polls released in the last week show the race between Cunningham and his Republican opponent, Thom Tillis, down to just a single point with yesterday’s update showing Cal ahead 43-42%. 

Many political experts believe North Carolina will be the most expensive Senate race in the country — and that’s because the winner of this election will very likely win control of the Senate, too.
