Fellow Conservative,

The Senate continues to plow ahead on confirming Trump’s Cabinet. By the end of last week only three nominees had been confirmed. Now we are up to eight. This is still a far cry from previous administrations like President George W. Bush whose entire first term Cabinet was approved by February 1st, and President Barack Obama who had 11 approved by February 2nd.

We are happy to see the progress made by the Senate but the country needs them to move faster. President Trump’s policy agenda cannot go into full force until his Cabinet is filled.

Most especially, some of President Trump’s picks are in danger of being voted down by their respective committees, namely: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nominated to be Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Tulsi Gabbard, nominated to be Director of National Intelligence.

This week, a Biden-era abortion policy in the Department of Defense was rescinded. Under the leadership of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth the DoD policy to use taxpayer funding to pay for time off, lodging, and travel expenses for elective abortions has been rescinded.

This policy, implemented by the previous Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, was heavily opposed by the Heritage Action grassroots advocates and when Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) fought back against Secretary Austin by putting a halt on nonpolitical military promotions, Heritage Action immediately stepped in, generating thousands of calls to the Hill in support of his actions.

It’s encouraging to see President Trump and Secretary Hegseth return the DoD to its mission: providing the military forces needed to deter war and secure our nation.

State Legislatures are back in session all over the country and we are already beginning to see victories emerging. This week’s win comes from the Sunflower State.

Kansas

This week the Kansas state legislature passed SB 63, which restricts state funds from being used for experimental surgeries, cross-sex hormones for children and prohibits experimental surgeries altogether.

We are happy to see children protected and will continue to work to make sure that other states also protect minors from irreversible harm.

Heritage Action’s Executive Director, Ryan Walker was featured in a New York Times article this week titled: “Trump’s ‘Flood the Zone’ Strategy Leaves Opponents Gasping in Outrage”

Trump’s “Flood the Zone” strategy means making changes to the government so fast the Democrats, the media, potential stonewallers, and well, nearly everyone, can’t keep up.


“The breakneck speed is putting everyone on their heels,” said Ryan Walker, the executive vice president of Heritage Action for America,...

“They [Trump’s first admin] were not this prepared,” Mr. Walker said. “They had not done this much homework before getting into office. And importantly, they’ve been able to find acting folks in all of these agencies to get this stuff across the finish line, and that is a feat of personnel management that we just didn’t see in the first administration.”


It’s true. The second Trump Administration is moving faster than greased lighting in fulfilling its mandate. As we engage with federal and state legislatures to do the same, we will always make sure to keep the best interests of the American people our exclusive focus.
