The March for Life
I am proud to be a pro-life conservative who represents the great state of Mississippi in the United States Congress, and I am proud that Mississippi led the way in overturning Roe v. Wade. After nearly half a century of hard work from conservatives, and President Trump’s appointment of pro-life Justices, the United States Supreme Court overturned one of the most disastrous Court cases in modern history. Dobbs v. Jackson, a case led by and argued by Mississippians, overturned the right to an abortion and, over the last two-plus years, has saved tens of thousands of lives.
A Note on the Freezing of Federal Funds by the Trump Administration
President Trump is right to evaluate Federal programs that were exploited for radical purposes under the Biden Administration. The Trump Administration has clarified that the Federal funding freeze only affects woke priorities that President Trump is seeking to eliminate through his recent executive orders. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Committee and in the Trump Administration to ensure Federal programs that benefit Mississippians are protected while eliminating wasteful and reckless spending.
Co-Sponsoring Pro-life Bills
Recently, I have been co-sponsoring various pro-life bills and ensuring that Congressional Republicans are in line with what President Trump is doing to protect life. Here are a few of the bills I have recently co-sponsored:
President Trump’s Pro-Life Executive Orders
I am thankful to have President Trump in office and for his hard work to ensure that lives are saved all across our nation. President Trump to date has signed 8 important pro-life executive orders. I am proud to serve a country that promotes life around the world. Here are a few highlights of what President Trump has done to protect life:

Honoring Big G Grocery in Decatur, Mississippi
I recently recognized the importance of small-town business owners and the impact they have on local communities by honoring the Griffin family and their locally run grocery store in Decatur, Mississippi. In January 1975, Buner Lee Griffin and his family opened a full-service grocery store and named it Big G Grocery. For fifty years Big G Grocery has served the Decatur community with fresh meat and produce through hardships like hurricanes, ice storms, power outages, and the COVID pandemic. Read more about their impact here.

An Update on Security Screening at the Jackson Airport
Thank you to TSA Federal Security Director Kim Jackson, the TSA staff, and Sergeant Jones with the Airport Police Department for giving me an update on new security screening equipment at the Jackson Airport. While at the airport we also had the opportunity to see Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith before she flew back to D.C. I am thankful for all of the hard-working men and women at TSA for keeping us safe.
