Dear Neighbor,
This past week, Donald Trump tried to freeze federal funding for critical programs like Meals on Wheels, Head Start, and rental assistance—putting hardworking families at risk. But after massive public outcry, he backed down.
While Trump was trying to cut this essential funding, I went out in the community to hear from some of the extraordinary organizations that would have been most impacted:
➡️ At Head Start, I met incredible kids and educators who rely on federal funding for early education. Just one month of frozen funds could have shut down preschools and left parents stranded.
➡️ At Las Alturas Senior Housing, retirees feared for their Social Security, Medicare, and veterans’ benefits. I assured them—I’m fighting to protect every Angeleno.
