President Donald Trump has spent the first 11 days of his second presidency prioritizing his cruel, anti-immigrant agenda — but Rob has stepped up in a big way to defend California’s children and immigrant communities.
The AG was one of the first in the nation to call out Trump’s unconstitutional and un-American executive order attempting to end birthright citizenship. Within hours of Trump’s order, Rob filed a lawsuit to stop this unlawful attack on our rights.
If Trump’s attempt to unilaterally amend the Constitution goes through, tens of thousands of babies born in California and across the country could be denied U.S. citizenship and the benefits that come with it. Rob is doing everything he can to ensure that doesn’t happen.
With other attacks on immigrants including ICE raids and Trump’s proposed plans to indefinitely detain tens of thousands of immigrants at Guantanamo Bay, Rob is also continuing to ensure California’s immigrants know their rights and that state law enforcement does not coordinate with ICE.
As someone who was born in the Philippines to an immigrant mother, this fight is personal for Rob. He knows immigrants help make California and our country as a whole thrive, and will do everything in his power to hold Trump accountable and defend the rights of all Californians, including immigrants.
