Dear John,
Recent News
Shelby and I are heartbroken regarding the loss of life following the mid-air collision at DCA. As recovery efforts continue, we ask all Americans to keep everyone involved in your prayers.
As we welcome 2025, we're starting a new chapter for our country—one where we honor our promises, drive meaningful change, and put the American people first. Earlier this month, I had the honor of attending the Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump. After the ceremony, President Trump wasted no time in signing 26 executive orders to set our nation on a bold new course. In the weeks that followed, Congress took action, passing several pieces of important legislation. One such bill was the Laken Riley Act, which strengthens immigration enforcement by requiring ICE to detain individuals charged with, convicted of, or arrested for serious crimes, including theft, assaulting law enforcement officers, and offenses that result in death or serious injury. This legislation also grants states the legal standing to hold the federal government accountable for failing to enforce these laws.
I’m excited for what this year holds and look forward to continuing our work on impactful legislation like this one!
Inauguration of President Donald J. Trump
It was a privilege to represent you at the Inauguration of President Donald Trump. While the event didn't go as planned, history was made that afternoon, and we now embark on America's next chapter. Over the next two years, I look forward to working with the President to ensure that the United States remains the greatest, most caring, giving, and united country that has ever existed. Thank you all for the honor you have given me by sending me to Washington on your behalf. It's truly a honor.

Battle of the Bulge
This month, I had the opportunity to attend a special event at the Luxembourg Embassy in Washington, where we paid tribute to the survivors of the Battle of the Bulge. This pivotal battle, fought from December 1944 to January 1945, was the last major German offensive on the Western Front during WWII. It resulted in approximately 19,000 American deaths, with countless others wounded or missing. Their courage and sacrifice during one of WWII's toughest battles are a testament to the strength of the human spirit. We must always remember and honor their service.
District Update
We've been busy in D.C., but our district team has also had the privilege of attending some fantastic events right here at home!
One of the highlights was a great event hosted by the Mansfield Chamber, where we got an inside look at the exciting business developments coming to the city. We also heard from local business leaders and got updates from our Tarrant County folks. It's always great to connect with the community and see the positive changes happening right here in our backyard!
Our team alongside some Texas Rangers, got an early look at the Colombian Mammoth skull that was discovered in Italy! With this discovery the Texas Through Time Museum in Hillsboro has partnered with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation to help support rural education! What an amazing find right here in Ellis County and great opportunity to inspire some future paleontologists!
On January 28th my office had the privilege of participating in the Veteran's Appreciation Luncheon in Palestine. As a 20 year Navy Veterans I see events like this as a way for me to give back to those who served before, alongside, and after me. This event provided local veterans with an opportunity to connect with their community and receive recognition for their service. Additionally, my staff was there to serve food, answer any questions about what's happening in Congress, and help navigate the VA for those in need.
