John,
We’ve been busy sorting through the overwhelming number of executive orders. It is overwhelming by design – a tactic outlined by the authors of Project 25 – and we refuse to be overwhelmed or stunned into paralysis. I hope you feel the same.
As a member of the House Armed Services Committee leadership team and one of only seven female veterans in the U.S. House, Chrissy can speak with more authority on the executive orders that undermine national security and civil rights (because we know they are related). Although all of the executive orders are worth commenting on, that’s not a realistic or smart tactic, so national security and civil rights are where we’re focusing right now.
How can you help during this time?
* Pick the issues that you care most about and focus your energy there.
* Keep speaking. Keep writing. Be vocal when elected officials do the right thing. Be vocal when they do not.
* Organize, and support good candidates running for office this year (or run yourself!).
* If you haven’t already, find your community. Work together. Lean on each other. Be kind to each other.
How else can you help? We could use your financial support, too. To enable Chrissy to stay focused on her work (at the moment, speaking with SEPA residents about the potential impact of President Trump’s freeze on all federal funding), I am asking this time.
January is the worst time for fundraising, but we are already behind our already low projections. Will you help us right the ship and meet our end-of-month goal by midnight so we have the resources needed over the next 21 months to reelect Chrissy and work for Democrats across SEPA?

Chrissy would be grateful. I would be grateful. Thank you.
Michelle
