Rep. Don Bacon newsletter banner image

Dear friend,

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of being joined by Rep. Marianette Miller-Meeks, who serves as the chairwoman of the Health Subcommittee for the House Veterans' Affairs Committee. We visited the University of Nebraska Medical Center and the VA's Ambulatory Care Center in Omaha together.

We're so happy to share that the former and late congressman Brad Ashford was honored on Thursday for his amazing work with veterans! He played a key role in passing the CHIP IN for Vets Act in 2016, which led to the creation of the much-needed VA Ambulatory Care Clinic in Omaha. A conference room at the clinic was named in his honor to commemorate his contributions. It was a wonderful moment with myself, Ann Ashford, family, and former colleagues all present for the dedication! https://www.3newsnow.com/news/local-news/former-congressman-brad-ashford-honored-with-room-dedication-at-omaha-va-facility

This year, I'm excited to have submitted legislation to make the CHIP IN Act permanent. This was the legislation that Brad worked on and successfully passed in 2016, creating the public-private partnership responsible for the construction of the ACC into a reality.

As always, I look forward to hearing from you. Please reach out to us at https://bacon.house.gov/contact/ to share your comments or get help with a federal agency!

Sincerely,

Rep. Don Bacon

Member of Congress
