Hey John,

This week has been an interesting one.

But even though Donald Trump and Greg Abbott are doing everything they can to drag our country backwards, and create as much chaos and confusion along the way, I still can’t shake my belief in a brighter future.

I know it won’t come easy and I know there’s a lot of pain and hard work in front of us. But I believe we will get there.

It helps in moments like these to get outside, spend some time in the Franklin mountains with our dogs (Freyja, Ziggy and Artemis who is pictured here) and try to find the long view.

Whether it’s a park or a hiking trail or some unspoiled wilderness in your neck of the woods, I hope you get a chance to do the same. The fresh air will do us all some good.
