This week has been challenging on multiple levels. This week the Trump Administration attempted a gross overreach of their executive powers by trying to freeze federal grants and loan programs. Due to public outcry and swift legal action, they rescinded their memo issuing the freeze.

Let me be absolutely clear, what the Trump Administration attempted to do was unconstitutional, illegal, and a blatant attempt to push the limits of their power.

Just because they were forced to rescind does not mean we should ignore the attempt or the signal it sends on their agenda and intentions. They will keep pushing the limits of their power and it is on us to call it out, push back, and lean into the full capability of our Democracy to do so.

This week was an important example of the balance of power in our Democracy working as it was designed.

As a Congresswoman and a member of the Appropriations Committee, I will not stop fighting to prevent Donald Trump from gross overreach and hold his administration and the GOP accountable.

Part of that plan is securing the resources to spread information on what is happening in Washington and the impact it has on our lives and communities. As my team prepares to close the door on January and enter the GOP trifecta’s first full month in power, the uphill battles ahead are not lost on me.

We must match the energy and ferocity of this indecent and power-hungry administration and be as loud in fighting for our rights as they are in trying to take them away.

That’s why you are hearing from me right now – at the end of a challenging week. I’m asking for your support, only if you are able, so my team and I can keep fighting for you on all fronts. Can I count on you? [[link removed]]

This administration will continue sowing confusion, chaos, uncertainty, and fear. I’ve said it before, our power over the next two years is limited, but it’s still power. And I will be using every bit of it you’ve trusted me with to fight back against Trump and the GOP’s agenda to protect our families and communities.

We ARE going to match their energy – I will make sure of it. So please join me in holding the line this cycle. Donate today to help my team fund much-needed resources for the battles ahead.
