We know the last couple of weeks have felt like months (if not years) for many. An onslaught of chaos, corruption, and cruelty has defined the first days of the Trump administration. With a complicit Republican-led Congress enabling Trump at every turn, it can feel like the odds are stacked against us.
But all is not lost.
Trump just backpedaled on his federal funding freeze after massive public pressure. His administration tried to slash critical federal funding overnight, but they underestimated the power of resistance from all of us in the civil rights community. The outrage was too loud to ignore – so they backed down.
This is proof: when we fight back, we can win.
And the resistance is only growing.
Across the country, communities are mobilizing against Trump’s Project 2025 agenda. Cities and states are refusing to comply with his extremist demands. Grassroots organizers are leading the charge, holding rallies, and ensuring their elected officials feel the heat.
Here at People For, we’re taking that fight directly to Congress. We’ve mobilized tens of thousands of people to demand that the Senate reject Trump’s most extreme cabinet nominees. We’re flooding their offices with calls, emails, and petitions – making it clear that a vote for these dangerous nominees is a vote against the people they represent.

They want us to believe their “shock and awe” chaos and change are inevitable. They’re not.
