Hi John,
It’s the end of January: President Trump and his Republican Party have been in power for less than two weeks, yet it’s already been a whirlwind of chaos and confusion.
The flurry of executive orders, controversial cabinet nominations, and boundary-testing decisions can make us feel like there is nothing we can do to stop their MAGA agenda.
The truth is that Colorado Democrats are already pushing back against Trump and notching us some real wins.
This week, Senator Michael Bennet grilled RFK Jr., Trump’s nominee for Secretary of Health and Human Services, exposing his inexperience and disqualifying beliefs, which raised real questions about whether he’ll be confirmed by the Senate.

Congresswoman Brittany Pettersen, who just gave birth to a beautiful baby boy (Congrats, Brittany!!), is advocating for changes in remote voting in Congress that would allow expectant parents and new parents, like herself, to vote and ensure the voices of her constituents are heard on crucial issues like immigration and reproductive freedom.

Congressman Jason Crow has denounced plans to use a military base in Aurora as part of Trump’s mass deportation efforts in Colorado. At the same time, it looks like Trump officials have backed off plans to use the Buckley Space Force Base to detain and deport immigrants.

Senator John Hickenlooper sits on four powerful Senate Committees where he will continue working to protect our health and climate while advancing the interests of our working families. This week he helped push back against Trump’s federal funding freeze.

Congressman Joe Neguse, who serves in leadership as the House Assistant Democratic Leader, is constantly working to ensure House Democrats are a wall of resistance against the Republican's most extreme policies. Congresswoman Diane DeGette, who serves as the Ranking Member on the Subcommittee on Energy and Climate, is fighting to protect our climate and Colorado’s natural beauty.
While it may be a challenging time, we have strong leaders here in Colorado fighting back against President Trump and Republicans' agenda. We want to do everything we can to support their efforts and send them some reinforcements in 2026. Contribute before our end-of-month deadline tonight at midnight >> [[link removed]]
