[[link removed]] Impact Story: Rescuing Candy and Gizmo from Los Angeles Fires Candy and Gizmo, a community cat and an indoor cat, were found hiding together
under the remains of a Palisades home. It had been burned to the ground by the
fast-moving flames of the devastating Palisades Fire.

Thankfully, and incredibly, both cats were unharmed—a testament to cats’ keen
survival instinct.

Our Rapid Response Team helped transport Candy and Gizmo to emergency veterinary
care—continuing its critical work to protect cats throughout the disaster. After
we funded their examination for signs of smoke inhalation and treatment for any
needed medical concerns, we're happy to say they are safe and together in a
foster home. We just received these update photos from their foster caregiver!
