Here in Phoenix, we know that climate change is not a political issue – it’s a reality that we must manage every day.

Last year, we shattered extreme heat records and didn’t see rainfall in nearly 150 days. A lack of action on this issue will have lasting adverse effects on our residents, communities, and economy. As the mayor put it: "the cost of inaction is simply too high."
Regardless of the decisions made at the federal level, Mayor Kate Gallego is as committed as ever to ensuring Phoenix reduces emissions, builds climate resiliency, and safeguards our residents from the effects of extreme weather events.
