Here’s the truth: right now, we are getting outraised by Joe Kennedy. He brought a war chest that he accumulated over multiple cycles into this race, and he’s collecting tons of max out checks from his big donors. Now he’s using that money to launch a $1.2 million ad buy.

We expected to get outspent, and that’s okay. But we need to keep it close. We cannot risk letting him drown out Ed’s message with his money.

You see, our strategy is a bit different. We’ve focused on building a grassroots campaign — organizing friend to friend, neighbor to neighbor — to build a movement that can win. We’re doing this every step of the way with people power.

That means that one of the best ways for us to close the gap with Joe’s money is with small-dollar contributions from people like you. All of the $5, $10 and $25 contributions really add up. That’s why our goal for this deadline is focused on the number of donations — not the amount raised. So here’s where I ask:
