Kash Patel is not fit to become FBI Director,
John.

Yesterday, I questioned him when he appeared in front of the Senate
Judiciary Committee.

He denied promoting a song from the January 6 Prison Choir – yes,
unfortunately that is a real thing. He said he didn’t have anything to do
with the recording, even though he was on Steve Bannon’s podcast saying,
“we mastered it, we went to a studio and recorded it, digitized it…” We.
We. We. If he had nothing to do with it, why was he gloating to Steve
Bannon’s listeners about his alleged artistic prowess?

His answer? ‘We’ apparently doesn’t include ‘me’ in every instance.

Well… that’s a new definition of we to me. And Kash Patel doesn’t just
lack an understanding of basic grammar. He lacks the character and
integrity to be FBI director.

I asked him directly: Did you claim that Trump declassified all of the
documents at Mar-a-Lago?

His response? He dodged. Yet he just said he supports transparency.

So I pressed him again. If he truly supports transparency, would he
support the release of his grand jury testimony to Congress?

Because right now, here’s what we know: Mr. Patel testified under oath
before the grand jury about Trump’s handling of classified documents, but
his statements—and the Special Counsel’s findings—remain hidden from both
Congress and the public. (He may also be the first ever nominee for FBI
Director who insisted on immunity because he was concerned he might
incriminate himself.

That’s why I, along with my colleagues on the Judiciary Committee, am
demanding full access to his testimony. We can’t properly vet Trump’s FBI
Director nominee without knowing whether he lied under oath, covered up
for the President, abused his power, or put classified information at
risk.

nomination. Help me keep up the fight — pitch in today.

If you’re unfamiliar with Kash Patel’s extremism, here’s what you need to
know:

He’s spread dangerous, false conspiracy theories about a “deep state” that
is “unfairly persecuting MAGA world”. He’s calling for a “comprehensive
housecleaning” of professionals at the Justice Department, and said he’ll
close down the FBI headquarters and turn it into a “museum of the deep
state” on his first day.

While I served on the House Intelligence Committee, Kash Patel was a major
part of the efforts to sabotage a thorough investigation of Russia’s
involvement in the 2016 election — and for his work, he was rewarded with
a post in the Trump Administration.

Strangest of all — but not surprising, given his close allegiances with
Donald Trump: Kash Patel wrote a children’s book titled The Plot Against
the King — featuring characters such as “King Donald,” “Hillary Queenton,”
and one particular “shifty knight.”

In case you haven’t guessed it yet, that is supposed to be a caricature of
me — Adam Schiff.

Literally repackaging the Big Lie about the 2020 election into a
children’s book. Deranged.

There’s more — Kash Patel hosted a children’s event to promote his new
book, which featured a castle, a trebuchet (a fancy catapult), and
watermelons adorned with, you guessed it, my face.

If it sounds ridiculous. It is. But it also demonstrates how completely
disastrous Kash Patel would be as director of the FBI. He should stick to
his strengths and remain an internet troll.

Again, this is someone who has called for the arrest of journalists,
politicians, and anyone who stands up to Donald Trump. There’s no end to
the damage he could cause.

And this isn’t just about Kash Patel. It’s about Trump’s inner circle—how
far they’ll go to cover for him, and what they’re willing to do with the
power he’s handing them.

We need transparency. We need accountability. And we need to make sure
that the people entrusted with our justice system believe in upholding the
law—not bending it to serve Donald Trump.

[ [link removed] ]We need to make sure Kash Patel’s nomination for Director of the FBI is
soundly defeated in the U.S. Senate. Chip in to uplift how extreme Kash
Patel is and help me encourage my colleagues to vote NO.
