In these challenging times, our country needs leaders -- leaders of character, experience, integrity, and courage. And I know Iowa has that in Admiral Mike Franken.

That's why I had to speak out and correct the record after the unfounded attacks on his service.

I endorse Mike because of his years of selfless and dedicated service to our country. I've worked with him and seen how he conducts himself up close.

I'm helping him any way I can, and I hope you can click here and support him too: [link removed]

He helmed fleets in hostile areas of operation, with thousands of Sailors, Soldiers, Marines, and Air Force personnel under his command. His love of country and dedication to those he was selected to lead is unparalleled and unwavering.

I asked him to create, organize, and obtain congressional support for the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) to bring closure to the families of missing soldiers. His mission: locate, retrieve, and identify the remains of lost soldiers from WWII.

Today, the DPAA fulfills its sacred mission with efficiency and meaning. This is only one of many of Admiral Franken's accomplishments during his long, distinguished career.

The attacks on his service are deplorable, but I know that will only strengthen his resolve and harden his focus.

I urge all Iowans to vote for him on June 2nd, and if you can, support his campaign by clicking here: [link removed]

Thank you,

Chuck
Secretary of Defense, former U.S. Senator, and Vietnam veteran
